UMASS BAND DAY 2016

This year the UMMB is excited to announce that Band Day will once again be held at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots on October 15th, 2016, UMass vs. Lousiana Tech University.On Band Day, students will have the opportunity to meet and work with Minuteman Marching Band director Dr. Timothy Anderson and Associate Director Thomas P. Hannum, an internationally recognized leader in the field of marching percussion.
Beginning early in the morning, bands from all across New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania join the Minuteman Band in an intense rehearsal of several musical selections which will be performed four hours later before thousands of fans!

REMINDERS:
1. Garment bags and hat boxes will be placed on the trailer upon arrival.  We will change at the Stadium.
2. Upon report time at PHS, students should immediately bring their instrument to the trailer. We will take attendance and leave promptly.
3.  Make sure you have your flip folder and a copy of the music for the day.
4.  You may want to bring extra clothes (sweatshirt) for the rehearsal, as you will be rehearsing outdoors.
5.  Students are asked to bring dinner money.  Students will have the opportunity to eat during the third and fourth quarter of the game.
6.  Tickets for UMass Band Day 2016 are available to high school band parents at $12 for sections 101 and 106. The deadline to purchase these tickets 5:00PM on October 14th. There will be tickets available for purchase at the stadium but they will be $25 per ticket. Contact Allison Levine at alevine@umass.edu to inquire, or RSVP. 

ITINERARY
7:15am                 Arrive at PHS, load buses, take attendance
8:00am                 Depart for Gillette Stadium
10:00-12:45pm  Introductions, Sectional rehearsals, mass band rehearsal, run through.
1:00-1:45pm       Eat lunch, change into uniforms, and line up to enter stadium for pre-game. Music Boosters will provide lunch  (Tailgate cookout)
1:45pm                 All visiting bands proceed to Gillette Stadium
3:00pm                 Game starts
Second                 Exit stands and begin to set up for half-time
Quarter
 
Half-time            Mass Band performance, then return to seats for second half.
Postgame            Feature performance by Minuteman Marching Band
7:45pm                 Visiting bands depart for home
10:00pm               Estimated arrival time at PHS
